Here it is everyone! Your chance to win a mint condition Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon CD & Book set from Japan!
The CD features several hits from the show such as Kirari Sailor Dream, Over Rainbow Road, C'est la Vie and MORE! The book is a hard card paged childrens book which should look great in any collection. Here's a photo of the set!
What do you have to do to win this prize? Well I thought I might use this competition to really spread the Sailor Moon love online and maybe even get some new Sailor Moon fans or revive someone's fandom in the process!
Soooo.... I want you to log into Twitter and make a tweet that contains the following:
I love Sailor Moon because _________ @moonkittynet
Naturally replace the _____ with your reason for loving the series and don't forget to add "@moonkittynet" at the end of your tweet so I can track your entry!
I will choose the winning tweet based on it's humor, originality or personality. Basically whatever makes it stand above the rest.
Competition will close a month from now on the 17th of February. You can enter as many times as you want because the winner will be chosen by quality over quantity.
Happy Friday! Hope you've had a good week and are getting all your Christmas shopping done!
The biggest Sailor Moon news this week is the release of the first Sailor Moon DVD box. It's been selling really well according to this chart (though I'm not sure the actual rank) and has flown off shelves here in Japan with a lot of stores already being out of stock! Even Amazon has sold all of their reserves in just a few days! Don't worry if you've placed an order though, the boxes won't go out of print until December 2011 and all stores should be getting new stock soon.
Luckily I pre-ordered mine and got it as soon as it was released. If you haven't already you should check out my review of the box which includes photos of the slip, case, disks and extras. Will be adding screencaps and a screenshot comparison between the different releases tomorrow so check back soon!
This week I also updated the Sailor Moon Channel Archive with December's layout. I wonder if this will be the last update for 2009! Looking forward to creating a new page for the 2010 layout! :D
In other site news Moonkitty.net's reached 1000 followers on Twitter! Thank you to all my followers for following thus far and if you haven't followed yet, come on over and join the party! I'll be throwing a competition for a PGSM CD / Book Set in the New Year that will be held entirely on Twitter so you better get in early to be eligible!
Speaking of Twitter, a BIG MOONIE THANK YOU to Dakota who made a donation this month! At this time of year, any support is appreciated so thank you so much for helping me out! **hugs**
As holidays are approaching, expect more updates in the near future such as new wallpapers, icons and some bigger developments in the Sailor Stars Episode Guide! The latest poll also suggests that you guys want some Sailor Moon Character Information too so you can expect Moonkitty.net's Character Guide to premiere sometime in the New Year after the Episode Guides are finished (and they almost are!). I'll also be answering as many Moonie Mailbag questions as time permits tomorrow as well.
Hey there everyone! Before I get to the competition you should really check out this short music video that combines two of my favourite animes, Sailor Moon and Card Captors (or Card Captor Sakura).
Some very cool effects used that I hadn't seen before in a fan video.
Now as some of your may have heard I'm going to be holding a competition to win a rare Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon CD and Book set. It's in mint condition and never been opened and pretty hard to come across in Japan right now.
The competition's going to be very easy and very fun and will be held on Twitter! So if you haven't signed up with Twitter yet, this is the time to do so. Seriously only takes 30 seconds, is free and will really change the way you interact on the web and to an extent in real life!
Hey! How's your week going? Been doing some more layout fiddling here and there, trying to streamline the whole site a bit more. Work in progress! I really like the circle Twitter and RSS buttons to the left. Not sure why but circles are cool. ;)
Tokyopop recently tweeted in reply to Sailor Moon: "I wish we could reprint Sailor Moon! If we could, we would, believe you me!" Guess we won't be seeing a manga reprint from them anytime soon. Possibly from Kodansha themselves though.
HUGE WEEK IN SAILOR MOON NEWS! Toei has started celebrating Sailor Moon's 20th Anniversary and has announced brand new season DVD box sets for every season of the Sailor Moon anime! You can read more about this huge event in my original news post but if you just want to cut right to it and pre-order your limited edition box sets you can get the first box here and the second box here. Amazon.co.jp is offering a huge 26% OFF for pre-orders on these boxes so they're well worth a look. Personally I pre-ordered mine yesterday from them.
Something else that's got me hyped is this preview of the Sailor Stars fan dub! It's a perfect example of why I think the DiC music cues work better (as much as I love the Japanese music). Can't wait for this fourth episode.
It's Friday again so that means Moon Sticks has a new strip online! This week features two of my favourite characters Alan and Anne (Ail and Anne)!
I was surfing around YouTube and found this fantastic clip someone made that mixes the voices from the English version of Sailor Moon S but adds the DiC music cues from the first two seasons and OMG it works really well! Again I love the Japanese music but the DiC music just makes it seem so much more exciting! Someone who commented on the video made an interesting point that thet DiC music cue works with the English voice actors and the Japanese music cues work better with the Japanese VAs. What do you think?
And speaking of fan edits! Check out this new preview for a fan project that mixes existing anime footage extremely well to make a brand new storyline! Looks very promising!
That's about it for the Roundup this week! Because Sailor Moon news in general is heating up though I will be posting any news as it's released, ASAP so you might get posts mid week, etc that are of huge importance!
If you haven't already I highly recommend subscribing to the site feed or following me on Twitter to get the latest Sailor Moon news as it's released.
Sorry for the later than usual news roundup this week! As followers of my Twitter account will know, life just got in the way this week and I was simply too exhausted to compose the Roundup post which requires a lot of energy and time.
Kind of a good thing I waited though, as this morning there's some HUGE Sailor Moon news from Japan! Let's get right into it!
This post over on the Genvid forums alerted everyone to the fantastic news that there will be some new Sailor Moon DVD releases in Japan!
The first DVD Box Set contains episodes 1 - 24 from the first season and is due for release this year in December! (Just in time for Christmas!)
Just yesterday I uploaded heaps of new Sailor Moon avatars (or icons). Almost over 100! You can find the new anime ones here and here as well as some cool manga inspired ones here. These are perfect for Twitter or discussion forums! Just don't place them on your own site! ;)
Some other big news this past week which I posted ASAP on Twitter was the closing down of ADV who was involved in the release of several Sailor Moon VHS and DVDs. Guess we can now completely rule them out of any Sailor Moon rerelease!
Finally, the Sailor Stars Dub has another fantastic preview online that looks (as usual) REALLY GOOD! Someone hire these guys to do the official Stars dub!
And now to finish on a funny note, I present this week's Moonie Music Monday Sailor Moon music video! LOL!
Also managed to finally update the bookmark and feed icons at the bottom of each blog post to suit the new layout.
Ah, and if you're not, I highly recommend checking out Moonkitty.net's Twitter Account. Have been tweeting a bit of news items the last few days there that most will find very interesting.
Will go into details on the Friday Sailor Moon Roundup but if you want the news as soon as it's released, Twitter is really great as I normally post things ASAP on my Twitter account that I might not have time to write a full blog post for until days later.
Phew, spent the afternoon cleaning up and reformatting all the pages in the new Information and Episode Guides pages with the new style header image/text. Hopefully tomorrow I can do the Shopping Guide and Website Info pages so I can get back to making more unique content for you all and jump right back into the Episode Guides!
Right now though I want to thank everyone who has followed Moonkitty.net on Twitter! I was really impressed with the speed some people signed up. Really made my afternoon!
Also I have a question for everyone. What free poll service do you recommend? I'd like to put one on the right hand side column but don't know which is the best service. Preferably one without advertising and one that will not take users to a separate page (even to view the results).
. It's been selling really well according to
.
isn't listing these new releases but as soon as they do I'll let you know.
